Where To Eat
Williamsburg is loaded with a variety of national chain restaurants. I strongly suggest you call ahead for reservations or you will find yourself waiting for extended periods of time. If they don’t take reservations, save yourself the trouble of going there if you are not resigned to waiting.
A few of the favorites that locals frequent that may be off the beaten path, or on the path, but offer up good food at a reasonable price.
The Backfin without a doubt is my favorite. It is about 5 miles from Jamestown. Read the map ahead of time as there is one tricky place to know where to turn or you will be headed in the wrong direction. This is off the beaten path for first time visitors, but you will find it delightful with good food, laid back atmosphere (real casual) and reasonable prices. The crab cakes are delicious.
