Family Fishing
An early morning or late evening of fishing can serve up a ton of excitement for young and old and it’s free. Of course you need to bring your fishing pole! Follow the Colonial Parkway to the Yorktown water front (Water Street). At the end of Water Street is the pier where you can fish at no charge. Several varieties of fish can be caught and you can strike up a conversation with any of the locals there on techniques to ensure success.
Although not free, you can chose from a number of dining establishments or shop along Water Street which overlooks the York River.
