Analytical, intelligent, articulate, confident and enthusiastic are the words that best describe the character of XXX. As a city planner for the Chicago Planning Department, I have supervised the professional submissions of XXX for over two and a half years and have found his work to be the epitome of excellence. In the over 100 submissions that I have received from him, the work has always exceeded the requirements and has never contained errors, ambiguities or irregularities that are often found in documents of this type.

XXX works for the well-known Chicago Planning and Land Use consulting firm, XXX, Inc. He serves as a Zoning Programs Administrator and his responsibility is to oversee all discretionary permit applications to insure compliance with the Chicago General Plan and Zoning Regulations.

I have reviewed a myriad of zoning variance requests, conditional use permit applications and other related documents and associated materials that have been authored by him and have continuously been impressed by his meticulous attention to detail, in-depth knowledge of relevant zoning issues and the cordial and confident manner in which he presents a case on behalf of his clients. XXX has the ability to recognize the salient issues of a request, research the appropriate ordinances and regulations, intelligently articulate a position and present a coherent case that often results in an approval where others might have been delayed because of lack of preparation.

In addition to a purely professional relationship with XXX, I have had the opportunity to interact with him on a more social level where the discussion centered on popular culture or newsworthy events. He is conversant on a wide variety of topics, is an attentive listener and adds a perceptive dimension to conversation that is both refreshing and invigorating.

I have been a city planner for over 30 years and have collaborated, coordinated and conversed with hundreds of individuals. XXX is truly a gem of an individual. He possesses a superb intellect, an effervescent personality and a keen insight about human nature that far exceeds his chronological years of life.

He will be an asset to any educational institution that he attends and will add depth and dimension to any group or class where he is present.
